With few shots on target in the first half, the best chances for each team came within a minute of each other.

After 15 minutes, a John Hutchinson header was well saved by Brisbane goalkeeper Michael Theo.

Thomas Broich shot inches wide of the right post, and Corey Brown shot high and wide for Brisbane Roar before the break.

Brisbane Roar won a penalty in 50th minute, and Jean Carlos Solorzano powered the ball into the bottom left corner.

With 64 minutes played, Central Coast goalkeeper Liam Reddy palmed ball over the bar from a powerful 30-yard shot from Luke Brattan.

Brisbane won another penalty in stoppage time, and substitute Andrija Kaludjerovic placed the ball into the bottom left corner to guarantee the win.

The result sees Brisbane Roar climb into the top six, while Central Coast Mariners remain in eighth in the A-League table.
