Brisbane Roar come from behind to beat Wellington Phoenix

Brisbane Roar snatch all three points after coming back from a goal down to beat Wellington Phoenix 2-1.

Brisbane Roar have come from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Wellington Phoenix in their A-League clash at the Suncorp Stadium.

Within the first two minutes of the encounter, Brisbane launched an attack with Thomas Broich, who strolled down the left channel before crossing the ball into the box to find the head of Dimitri Petratos.

While he managed to get his head on the cross, it wasn't the most powerful of efforts as it glided past the back post.

The away side began showing intent as the clash went on by displaying some free-flowing play, which resulted in Vince Lia shooting across the face of goal from the right edge of the area, but his effort ended up smashing into the far post.

Wellington continued to pile on the pressure, and it eventually paid off from a counter-attack, which resulted in Jeremy Brockie taking a shot towards goal, but Stein Huysegems cut out the shot to nudge the ball into the back of the net.

Shortly after the break, Brisbane managed to fight back through Henrique, who stormed down the left to chip the ball across the area to find youngster Devante Clut, who hammered the ball into the top left corner to draw level.

From then on, the home side dominated on the field, creating numerous chances to take the lead, but they struggled to make their opportunities count in the final third.

However, the winning goal eventually came for Brisbane in the 87th minute when Luke Brattan unleashed a thumping strike to take all three points for the league leaders.
