Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is reportedly still at the top of Roma's wishlist for the summer window.
Jose Mourinho attempted to lure the Switzerland captain away from the Gunners last summer, but he instead penned a new deal with Arsenal until the summer of 2024.
Xhaka's long-term future at the club remains unclear, though, with Arsenal expected to bolster their midfield ranks this summer amid links with Renato Sanches, Ruben Neves and Douglas Luiz.
According to Calciomercato, Roma have not dropped their interest in Xhaka and will attempt to sign the 29-year-old again ahead of the 2022-23 season.
The report adds that Xhaka is desperate to work under Mourinho, and Roma did reach an agreement in principle with the midfielder's entourage before failing to stump up Arsenal's €20m (£16.7m) asking price.
Xhaka has one assist from 15 games in an Arsenal shirt this season but has also received red cards against Manchester City and Liverpool.
