Laura Robson battles into fourth round at Wimbledon

Laura Robson becomes the first British woman to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon since 1998 with a three-set victory over Marina Erakovic.

Laura Robson has become the first British woman to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon since 1998 with a three-set victory over Marina Erakovic.

The 19-year-old looked nervous during the opening set and was duly punished by world number 71 Erakovic, who came through 6-1 in 22 minutes.

The New Zealander had the chance to serve out the match in the second, but Robson broke twice to take it 7-5.

The Brit moved into a 2-0 lead in the decider and managed to save three break points on her way to establishing a comfortable 4-0 advantage.

Erakovic earned herself a break back, but she couldn't stop Robson closing out the match 6-3.

The home favourite will face either American wildcard Alison Riske or Estonia's Kaia Kanepi for a place in the quarter-finals.
