Dominika Cibulkova ousts Aleksandra Wozniak in straight sets

Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova beats Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada in straight sets in the first round at Wimbledon.

Dominika Cibulkova has beaten Canada's Aleksandra Wozniak in straight sets to book her place in the second round at Wimbledon.

A double fault from the Canadian helped the 10th seed go up a break in the fourth game of the opening set as the Slovakian won nine games in a row.

Wozniak continued to struggle at the start of the second as she was broken by the Australian Open finalist in the first game.

While trailing 4-1, the world number 118 fought to keep herself in the match, taking the Slovakian to deuce on her serve for the first time in the second set, but Cibulkova escaped with her serve intact, before serving the match out two games later.

Cibulkova will face Belgium's Alison von Uytvanck in the next round.
