Andy Murray storms into Wimbledon quarter-finals

Andy Murray reaches the quarters of Wimbledon after beating Nick Kyrgios in straight sets.

Andy Murray has secured his place in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon after defeating Australian Nick Kyrgios in straight sets on Centre Court.

The British number one dominated his opponent for much of the match, but the opening set was tight, the Briton only managing to secure his first break with the score at 6-5.

Murray served out the set and the contest soon became one-sided, with Kyrgios getting just one game on the board as he went down 6-1 in the second.

The Australian served big, but his forehand often fell short, allowing Murray to land a crucial break with the score at 3-3 in the final set.

A weary backhand from Kyrgios handed the Scot a match point after one hour and 36 minutes, and Murray took full advantage, burying his opponent with an unstoppable ace to book his spot in the last eight of the tournament.
