Murray progresses at Wimbledon

Andy Murray has made it through to the second round of Wimbledon with little trouble, thanks to a straight-sets win over Germany's Benjamin Becker.

The British world number two earned himself a 4-1 lead in the opening set before Becker broke back to restore parity at 4-4. However, Murray broke again to clinch it 6-4.

There was little to separate the two men in the second, but the home favourite had enough to open up a two-set lead by coming through 6-4.

By now Becker's resolve had been largely worn down and Murray went on to close out the match 6-2 with just under two hours on the clock.

The US Open champion's opponent in round two will be either fellow Brit Jamie Ward or Taiwan's Lu Yen-hsun.
