Marion Bartoli books her spot in the semi-finals of Wimbledon with a 6-4 7-5 victory over Sloane Stephens.

Marion Bartoli has booked her place in the semi-finals of Wimbledon with a 6-4 7-5 victory over Sloane Stephens.

Neither player could be separated in the opening eight games of the first set before play was suspended due to heavy rain in London.

Bartoli managed to hold to move 5-4 ahead after the restart, before the 28-year-old broke the Stephens serve to claim the opening set in just under an hour.

An incredible second set saw nine breaks of serve after Bartoli had held in her opening service game. The decisive break came in the final game, however, as Bartoli booked her spot in the last four.
