Roger Federer delighted by Sam Querrey victory

Roger Federer admits to being 'happy and relieved' by his promising performances in the opening two rounds at Wimbledon.

Second seed Roger Federer has admitted that he is "very happy" with his early performances at Wimbledon.

The 17-time Grand Slam winner remains on course for another piece of silverware, courtesy of a comprehensive 6-4 6-2 6-2 victory over Sam Querrey in the second round this afternoon.

Federer, who also recorded a straight-sets win in his opening-round match against Damin Dzumhur earlier this week, admits that he is delighted with the way things are panning out at SW19.

"I'm very happy with the way I played the first two matches," the Swiss ace told BBC Sport. "I guess there's also a little bit of relief that I'm also playing well at Wimbledon.

"Sam's a good player, he's had a good run on the grass. The first set was tough, he was serving very well and I didn't know how long he was keeping it up so the first break was crucial."

Sam Groth awaits Federer in the fourth round.
