Roger Federer: 'Roberto Bautista Agut not at his best during fourth-round defeat'

Number two seed Roger Federer suggests that Spanish opponent Roberto Bautista Agut may not have been on his best game during their fourth-round clash at Wimbledon.

Swiss tennis veteran Roger Federer has suggested that Spanish opponent Roberto Bautista Agut may not have been at his best during their fourth-round clash at Wimbledon.

The number two seed cruised past Agut in a 6-2 6-2 6-3 straight-sets victory on Tuesday evening, and Federer has since dismissed suggestions that he made a big statement with the win.

"I don't think I made a statement. I did a nice job making the transition," said Federer, according to BBC Sport.

"It was a good match. I got off to a good start and kept rolling. Obviously maybe Roberto wasn't at his very best."

Fereder is now due to face Gilles Simon for a place in the semi-finals.
