Nicolas Almagro books his spot in the second round of Wimbledon with a comfortable 6-4 7-6 7-5 victory over Jurgen Zopp.

Nicolas Almagro has secured his spot in the second round of Wimbledon with a comfortable 6-4 7-6 7-5 victory over Jurgen Zopp on Monday.

The opening set remained on serve until 2-2, when the Spaniard broke to take control of the set, eventually claiming the opener in 30 minutes of tennis.

Both continued to serve well in the second, but it was Almagro who came out on top in the tie-break courtesy of a 7-2 score.

Zopp's power from the baseline caused Almagro problems in the third and what proved to be final set, but a late break of serve allowed the Spaniard to book his spot in the second round of the competition.
