Sam Stosur cruises past Irina Falconi

Doha finalist Sam Stosur produced an efficient display to defeat Irina Falconi 6-0 6-3.

Ecuadorian-born Falconi was blown away by the Australian's deep hitting in the first set, as a host of unforced errors handed Stosur a bagel.

The 21-year-old, who is ranked 100th in the world and beat Andrea Hlavackova in qualifying, was able to cut down on the errors in set two but Stosur prevailed as the comfortable victor.

Stosur will now face Nadia Petrova in round three, after the Russian beat Lauren Davis 6-3 6-2.
