Roger Federer beats Milos Raonic 7-5 6-4 in Indian Wells semi-final

Majestic Federer eases past Raonic

Roger Federer is through to the final of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells thanks to an imperious 7-5 6-4 win over Milos Raonic.

The Canadian held off Federer for most of the first set thanks to his powerful serving, but the 17-time Grand Slam winner found the breakthrough in the 11th game.

The Swiss enticed Raonic to the net repeatedly, before whipping a series of ground strokes past the stricken 24-year-old.

He wrapped up the first with a forehand winner, and then broke Raonic's serve for the second time at the beginning of the second set.

Raonic did not have an answer to Federer's accurate serving, and the world number two set up a final against Novak Djokovic with a composed volley at the net.
