Feliciano Lopez overcomes Pablo Cuevas in three to reach Indian Wells fourth round

Lopez overcomes Cuevas in third round

Feliciano Lopez has grabbed a place in the fourth round at Indian Wells by overcoming Pablo Cuevas 6-2 4-6 6-3 in California.

The Spaniard was close to going a break down instantly in the first set, but he managed to save two break points and hold.

It wasn't long before Lopez found his rhythm on the court and went two breaks up, which was enough to seal a one-set lead.

Cuevas fought back in the second set with a strong serve and this time he was the one to snatch a crucial break point to go on and level the contest.

Games went by the way of serve in the early stages of the decider, but it was Lopez who took the edge by going a break up and immediately holding his serve, which gave him a 4-1 lead.

From then on, it was a relatively comfortable ride for the Spaniard as he wrapped up the match and sent himself into the next round.
