Marion Bartoli sees off Lucie Safarova

Marion Bartoli has secured a quarter-finals place at Indian Wells with a 6-1 6-4 win over Lucie Safarova.

The Frenchwoman dominated the first set with a succession of breaks, before seeing off the Czech in a comfortable second.

The victory extends Bartoli's record over Safarova to six wins and one loss since 2007.

Bartoli will meet Ana Ivanovic in the quarter-finals after the Serb saw off Carloine Wozniacki 6-3 6-2.
