Victoria Azarenka has reached the first Indian Wells final of her career with a hard-hitting straight-sets win over Angelique Kerber.

The world number one made the perfect start by breaking her opponent's serve in the opening game.

Although Kerber broke back in an epic fourth game after multiple deuce points, Azarenka regained the initiative in the ninth and then stylishly served out to take the set.

There were six breaks of serve in the second set and Azarenka claimed four of them, including recovering from 40-0 down to win the final game and seal the 6-4 6-3 win.

The Belarusian has now won 22 consecutive matches.
