Dan Evans breezes into Indian Wells Masters third round

Britain's Dan Evans breezed into the third round of the Indian Wells Masters with a two-set victory over Argentina's Federico Coria on Saturday.

The 31-year-old did not look back after breaking in the opening game of the first set and ultimately marched to a 6-2 6-0 victory over his counterpart.

Evans has joined fellow Brit Andy Murray in the third round of the men's singles event at Indian Wells, with the British number two serving Coria a bagel in set two and clinching the win as the Argentinian's return went long.

"He hit the ball with a lot of spin, it was a different match to what you are normally used to," Evans told Amazon Prime during his on-court interview.

"I got used to it, I was trying to come forward and could have served better, but I played my game pretty good today. At the start I was hitting too much cross-court, the balls are quite soft as well, but it's a perfect court and it's great to get out and play here."

Compatriot and defending champion Cameron Norrie joined Evans - who will now meet Rafael Nadal - and Murray in round three with victory over Pedro Martinez.
