Late Liam Kay try hands Wakefield Trinity Wildcats win

A last-minute try from Liam Kay gives Wakefield Trinity Wildcats a 36-32 win over Castleford Tigers.

James Clare ended up on the losing side despite scoring four tries for Castleford Tigers in their final game of the regular Super League season.

The wing completed a hat-trick in the first half, while Rangi Chase was also on the score board, as Castleford claimed a narrow 20-18 lead over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at half time.

Ali Lauitiiti inspired a comeback by the home side in the second half, setting up Liam Kay to give Wakefield an eight-point lead early on, but Clare hit back and restored Castleford's advantage.

Lauitiiti found the try line himself late on to level the scores with three minutes left to play, but Lee Smith could not make the conversion to give the Wildcats the lead.

However, Lauitiiti stole the ball from Chase in the final minute before passing to Kay, who ran 50 metres to add his second try of the game.
