Richard Owen leads Castleford Tigers to victory

Richard Owen scores three tries as Castleford Tigers thrash Hull Kingston Rivers 30-10 in the Super League.

A Richard Owen hat-trick has led Castleford Tigers to a 30-10 win over Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League this evening.

Owen gave the visitors an early lead, scoring two tries in quick succession in the first half, before Frankie Mariano extended their advantage.

However, Omari Caro managed to bring the hosts back into contention by stretching for the line just before the break, although replays suggested that he may have lost control of the ball before getting the grounding.

Castleford had to defend hard as the home side pressed for the lead early in the second half, but Oliver Holmes managed to increase the Tigers' lead.

The visitors were able to put the result beyond doubt with three minutes left to play as Owen found a gap again for his third try of the evening.
