Graeme Horne 'buzzing' to get Super League campaign underway

Veteran Graeme Horne admits to being 'excited' ahead of Hull KR's Super League opener against Leeds Rhinos.

Graeme Horne has insisted that he is "ready to go" as Hull Kingston Rovers prepare to get their Super League campaign underway at home to Leeds Rhinos this afternoon.

The 29-year-old has undergone a gruelling pre-season ahead of his 13th full term for the Black and Whites in order to boost his side's hopes of success.

Despite the ageing limbs, Horne says that he cannot wait to get another season going at Craven Park later today.

"I love it. It's brilliant and I couldn't ask for a better job," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "I feel like I'm ready to go. Obviously, it still takes a few games to get match-fit, but I don't think any players will have played all the friendlies.

"I think I'm in good stead and my body knows it's back in the grind. I've been playing 13 years now since I signed at Hull when I was 15 and made my debut at 16. I've just finished my 14th or 15th pre-season.

"Pre-season is long, tough and hard but it gets us closer to the season starting. We love to know how our team is going to go and it's exciting. I still get the buzz now, 14 years later."

Horne made his senior debut for Hull KR back in March 2003.
