Soren Kjeldsen and Thorbjorn Olesen clinch first World Cup of Golf for Denmark

Soren Kjeldsen and Thorbjorn Olesen lead Denmark to their first ever World Cup of Golf triumph with a four-shot victory at Kingston Heath.

Soren Kjeldsen and Thorbjorn Olesen have helped Denmark win their first ever World Cup of Golf with a four-shot triumph at Kingston Heath.

The pair started the day four shots clear of American duo Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker, and despite a few scares, they were able to see off the rest of the field on Sunday.

Kjeldsen and Olesen's overnight lead was whittled down to one early on the back nine, but they regained control of the tournament with five birdies in six holes and another at the last completed a four-stroke win.

The victory for Kjeldsen came at the sixth time of asking with Olesen playing in his third World Cup as Denmark beat their previous best finish of second in 2001.

France also birdied the last to return a 63 which earned them a share of second with China (65) and the United States, who were also six-under for the final day.
