Rovman Powell hits 10 sixes as West Indies beat England in third T20

Rovman Powell produces a famous West Indies century to earn his side a 20-run victory over England in the third T20 international in Bridgetown.

Rovman Powell produces one of the most memorable innings in West Indies T20 history, hitting 10 sixes on the way to a century which helped his side defeat England by 20 runs in Bridgetown.

The 28-year-old came to the crease with his team on 48-2, but a 122-run third wicket partnership alongside Nicholas Pooran only told half the story.

Complemented by his teammate hitting 70 off 43 balls, Powell struck 10 maximums during a 53-ball innings, reaching 107 before Reece Topley collected his only wicket.

West Indies eventually made it to 224-5, setting England an intimidating target, but the tourists were well in the game until an ailing Liam Livingstone (11) was dismissed with the score on 107-4 after 11.1 overs.

Tom Banton was the pick of the England batsmen with the opener contributing six maximums during a 39-ball knock of 73, but debutant Phil Salt was also mightily impressive with an innings of 57 off just 24 deliveries.

That power hitting kept England, albeit only mathematically, in the contest until three balls remained, although it would have been harsh on Powell if he had ended up on the losing side after a performance which will live long in the memory.

England eventually ended on 204-9, leaving them trailing by a 2-1 scoreline in the best-of-five series.
