Lewis Hamilton fears Sebastian Vettel domination

Lewis Hamilton says that Sebastian Vettel has the pace to dominate the rest of the Formula 1 season.

Lewis Hamilton has played down talk of a home victory at the British Grand Prix by claiming that Sebastian Vettel could now dominate the remainder of the Formula 1 season.

The German has only won a single race so far this term but turned heads with his formidable pace before his retirement at the European Grand Prix.

While Hamilton is cautious over the reigning world champion's speed, he is hoping that he can still compete with Vettel at Silverstone.

"Be careful, because Vettel could dominate for the rest of the year," Hamilton told The Mirror.

"The pace he had at the last race was ridiculous - he made a 20-second lead in something like ten laps. Ridiculous.

"We've hopefully got some upgrades coming, the car felt pretty good in the simulator so I hope that we have a fighting chance to make the nation proud. So hopefully in the next race we'll have a much better chance of keeping with [Vettel], if not being ahead of him."

The British Grand Prix takes place at Silverstone this Sunday.
