Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton still 'concerned' by tyre issues

Lewis Hamilton says that there is still a "concern" over the recent tyre failures, despite Pirelli's announcement that they will make changes before the German Grand Prix.

Mercedes Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has admitted that there is still a "concern" over the recent tyre failures at the British Grand Prix.

Ahead of this Sunday's race in Germany, Pirelli will make changes to the rear tyres following four blowouts at Silverstone.

"I think it's still a concern," Hamilton told BBC Sport. "It is still something that we need to see how it goes really. We will see how the weekend goes and I'm sure that they have taken the right steps to make it safe.

"I'm satisfied, but when we get there we will have a better idea how it is for us and everyone else. I'm glad that action has been taken."

Hamilton was among the drivers who experienced the problems, resulting in a fourth-place finish despite leading at the start of the race.
