Lewis Hamilton quickest in first practice

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton records the fastest time in the first practice session ahead of Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has recorded the quickest time in the opening practice session ahead of Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix.

Hamilton, who won last week's Malaysian Grand Prix, had teammate Nico Rosberg finish behind him in second position with Ferrari's Fernando Alonso in third.

Nico Hulkenberg registered an impressive time in the Force India to finish in fourth place while Jenson Button started preparations for his 250th Grand Prix by ending the session in fifth.

Kimi Raikkonen was sixth, Kevin Magnussen was seventh, while reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel finished in 10th.
