FIFA to use Hawk-Eye at Women's World Cup

FIFA has announced that it will use Hawk-Eye at the Women's World Cup this summer.

Goal-line technology was first used at the men's World Cup in 2014, with Hawk-Eye being implemented for the first time by FIFA at the Club World Cup in 2012.

A similar system is currently in use in the Premier League, where seven cameras are installed around the stadium which can track the ball's movement to the nearest millimetre. The match officials are alerted to a goal by a vibration on their watches.

England are in Group F with France, Colombia and Mexico and will open their campaign against the French on June 9.
