Wolves put Ricketts up for loan

Head coach Kenny Jackett has conceded that Wolverhampton Wanderers would not stop Sam Ricketts from leaving the club on loan this month.

The captain sat out just two league matches last season, but this time around he has fallen down the pecking order at Molineux, having made just five appearances.

When asked by the Express & Star if the Championship club would accept a loan approach for the 33-year-old, Jackett responded: "Yes we would, but no-one [has] come in for him and Sam hasn't been jumping up and down to go out necessarily."

Ricketts, who joined Wolves from Bolton Wanderers in 2013, will become a free agent when his contract expires in the summer.
