Wolves join race for Maynard

Wolverhampton Wanderers have become the latest club to make an enquiry for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard, according to Sky Sports News.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy is said to be keen on boosting his attacking options, having allowed Sam Vokes to join Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, Wolves are likely to face competition from West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Fulham and West Ham United for the 25-year-old.

Maynard saw a move to Wigan Athletic fall through last week.
