Wolves closing in on Vallejo loan?

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly moved to the brink of securing a loan deal for Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo.

The centre-back said earlier this month that he wished to remain at the Bernabeu, despite having fallen down the pecking order as a result of the arrival of Eder Militao from Porto.

However, according to Marca, discussions are ongoing regarding a temporary switch to Wolves, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of a potential lengthy Europa League campaign.

The report claims that Wolves are 'one step away' from getting a deal over the line, with the transfer potentially being completed later on Thursday.

However, it is also stated that the 22-year-old would return to Spain next summer, rather than sign for Wolves on a permanent basis.

Vallejo has made 12 outings for Real in La Liga, while loan spells have also been spent at Real Zaragoza and Eintracht Frankfurt.
