Toti Gomes signs long-term Wolves contract

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Toti Gomes has penned a new long-term contract at Molineux.

Having spent 18 months on loan at Swiss side Grasshopper Zurich, Toti was given a chance to impress in the absence of Romain Saiss at the turn of the year.

The 23-year-old responded by featuring in Premier League victories over Southampton and Brentford, the centre-back being praised for his immediate transition to life in the Premier League.

While Toti has not made a first-team appearance since February 5, Wolves have handed the Portuguese a deal until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

Speaking to the club's official website, Toti said: "I'm happy and grateful to extend my contract with Wolves. I really appreciate the opportunity the club has given me, and I think this is something great for myself, and my whole family, and I'm happy I can keep bringing happiness to the family and make them proud every day.

"Like I've said before, this is just the beginning of something possibly great and I will always keep working hard so I can give back the confidence the club has given myself every day in training and games, so I can help the team achieve goals in each season."

Toti will now compete with the likes of Saiss, Max Kilman and Willy Boly for a place in Bruno Lage's back three for the remainder of the campaign.
