Redknapp: 'Henry can be our leader'

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has praised the battling qualities of Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Karl Henry.

The midfielder is in London for a medical today ahead of a move to Loftus Road after the two clubs agreed a fee for his services last night.

Assessing his incoming recruit, Redknapp is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard: "I've always liked Karl. He's a good sort, he's a competitor.

"He looks like he wants to win. He's captain of Wolves and whenever I came up against him he always had that attitude about him that he's very determined.

"I think he is what we need at the club. He's a bit of a leader on the pitch and he will be a big asset for us. He is having a medical and it should go through today."

Henry is reported to be costing the R's around £1m.
