Latest transfer news, rumours: Burnley want PL goalkeeper, Wolves learn Adli asking price

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has allegedly emerged as a transfer target for Burnley.

Last summer, Wolves paid in the region of £10m to sign the England international from Crystal Palace, the expectation being that he would dislodge Jose Sa from the number one spot.

Instead, the 32-year-old has made just 10 appearances for the West Midlands outfit and is available for the right price during the current transfer window.

According to The Sun, Burnley and Sunderland are ready to battle it out for his signature as they seemingly look to bring in new first-choice stoppers.

From Burnley's perspective, they will soon need an alternative to James Trafford, who is in line to return to Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris is said to be on the lookout for either a replacement or competition for long-standing goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.

As it stands, Wolves are said to be ready to facilitate a loan agreement or sell for £8m.

Wolves learn Adli asking price

Staying with Wolves and they have reportedly learned what they will need to pay to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Amine Adli.

The versatile playmaker has spent the last four seasons at the Bundesliga outfit, contributing 23 goals and 24 assists from 142 appearances in all competitions.

With three years remaining on his contract, Leverkusen do not have to sell when Erik ten Hag has already witnessed several high-profile names depart the BayArena.

Nevertheless, according to BILD, Wolves have looked to step up their interest in the 25-year-old and have subsequently learned an asking price.

Leverkusen are said to be prepared to do business for a fee in the region of €30m (£26.01m), a fee that Wolves officials would likely want to negotiate.

Adli - a 15-cap Morocco international - is capable of playing all across the forward line and would come into contention for a regular starting role should he make the switch to Molineux.

Brighton to cash in on winger

Brighton & Hove Albion are allegedly looking to cash in on Jeremy Sarmiento during the summer transfer window.

Since arriving at the Amex Stadium in 2021, Sarmiento has made a total of 21 appearances in all competitions, the bulk of his first-team experience being earned elsewhere.

A total of nine goals and two assists have come from 75 outings in the Championship for three different clubs, the 23-year-old having most recently helped Burnley earn promotion to the Premier League.

However, as per The Athletic, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has no intention of reintegrating the Ecuador international into his first-team squad.

Therefore, the Seagulls are eager to do business over the coming weeks, the player preferring to stay in Europe rather than accept an offer from a South American team.

As it stands, it remains to be seen what offer Brighton may accept, but they will be influenced by being able to make pure profit on the player.
