Steven Fletcher denies transfer request

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Steven Fletcher has denied that he has handed in a transfer request.

The 25-year-old reportedly turned down a move to Sunderland last month, while Stoke City are also thought to be interested.

Reports had suggested that the Scot was about to hand in a transfer request, but he has now moved to dispel those rumours.

Posting on Twitter, Fletcher, who is currently on holiday in Marbella, said: "I ain't put no transfer request in only request I put in just now was for a side of fries with my chicken wrap at the pool."

Fletcher scored 12 goals for Wolves last season.
