Wolves looking to do double over Arsenal for first time in 42 years

Wolves looking to do double over Arsenal for first time in 42 years

Wolverhampton Wanderers are hoping to claim successive league victories over Arsenal for the first time since the 1978-79 season.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men beat the Gunners 2-1 at the Emirates back in November with goals from Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence securing all three points.

Tuesday's encounter will be the 100th top-flight meeting between the two sides, with Arsenal leading the way with 45 victories to Wolves's 27, with the remaining 27 matches ending as a draw.

Wolves are currently enduring a poor spell of form, having fail to win any of their last eight Premier League matches, which has seen then slip to 14th in the table.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are unbeaten from their last six league games, winning four and drawing the other two, most recently against Manchester United last weekend.

A win for Wolves would ease any potential relegation fears as they would move 12 points clear of the bottom three, while Arsenal could move into the top six if they claim all three points on Tuesday.
