Solbakken: 'Pennant has been unlucky'

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken has bemoaned the bad luck that Jermaine Pennant has suffered during his loan stint with the club.

Having signed on at Molineux on a temporary basis from Stoke City, winger Pennant joined a team that was initially on a poor run of form, before being sidelined with an ankle problem.

The 29-year-old has since recovered from that injury, but has found starting appearances hard to come by thanks largely to the form of Bjorn Sigurdarson.

"Jermaine has been a little bit unlucky," Solbakken told the Express & Star. "The ankle problem affected his match fitness so the next time he got the chance, he had to show he was ready.

"He came in when the season turned the wrong way for us so it's not just about him, it's also about team performances.

"He's a little bit frustrated but he's been very positive as a person."

Wolves have won just one match of the 11 in which Pennant has featured.
