Morgan Gibbs-White wants more than a cameo role at Wolves this season

The midfielder won the World Cup with England Under-17s.

Wolves youngster Morgan Gibbs-White is eager to make an impact at Molineux after his impressive cameos this season.

The 18-year-old midfielder earned rave reviews for a 30-minute appearance in last week’s 3-2 defeat to Tottenham.

Wolves scored twice while he was on the pitch and he also provided a golden chance for Helder Costa, only for the forward to shoot wide.

Gibbs-White – who helped England Under-17s win the World Cup last year – has played just 59 minutes in the top flight this term but, ahead of Sunday’s trip to Arsenal, wants more.

“When you’re on the pitch the crowd is like white noise until you hear your name get mentioned, then it makes you enjoy it more,” he told the club’s official website.

“It gives you goose bumps because you know that you’re actually here – the fans are singing my name and I’m actually living my dream I had as a kid.

“It’s an honour to put on a Wolves shirt and work for a talented and motivated manager in Nuno.

“Not only does he help you individually, he helps you as a team and brings us all together and we’ll need that going into the game at the weekend.”

Wolves are aiming to avoid a fourth straight defeat after losses to Spurs, Brighton and Watford stalled their fine start to the season.

Arsenal have won 12 of their last 15 games but Gibbs-White insists Wolves’ confidence remains high despite their own run.

He said: “The mood in the team is still good. It’s not as if we performed badly against Tottenham, we could have got more from the game.

“The gaffer has still got confidence in us and he’s still motivating us to go again on Sunday.

“We started the game off really well, but when Tottenham scored we got a bit of disbelief.

“It was frustrating when we got the disallowed goal – we felt it was unfair and it gets you down, but we had the motivation to get back up, and we’ll go again and try to get a win away at Arsenal.

“Arsenal have been very good, so we know it’s going to be a tough game going to the Emirates, but the boys know we’ve got to keep doing what we’ve been doing.”
