Jody Craddock thanks fans from up and down the country for expressing their support to his son, Toby, who is suffering from leukaemia.

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Jody Craddock has expressed his appreciation to football fans from across the country that have sent messages of support to the player's son, Toby, who is suffering from leukaemia.

The West Midlands club confirmed last week that Craddock's two-and-a-half-year-old son has been diagnosed with the disease, which prompted players from both Wolves and Everton to wear t-shirts supporting Toby before the goalless draw at Molineux on Sunday.

"The fans have been fantastic," Craddock told the club's official website. "I'm on Twitter and have had hundreds of messages from Wolves fans, West Brom fans, fans from all clubs.

"People have been offering their support and wishing Toby all the best which is fantastic. It has been a very tough week and I had to hold everything in a bit when I saw the players from both sides wearing the t-shirts during the warm-up.

"It has been a very difficult week but Toby has started on his medicine and we're all staying positive. He could need treatment for up to three years but there are generally positive outcomes from this type of leukaemia."

Wolves's final game of the season is away to Wigan Athletic next weekend.
