Christian Eriksen 'chooses' next club, heads for Germany after Manchester United exit

Former Man United man Eriksen 'chooses' next club

Former Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has reportedly chosen his next club.

Eriksen has been available on a free transfer throughout the summer after his contract expired at Old Trafford.

Having failed to hold down a regular starting spot under Ruben Amorim, the 33-year-old is eager for greater importance during what may be the back end of his career.

The Denmark international has been linked with a wide array of clubs, even Championship side Wrexham who planned an ambitious deal at one stage.

However, Tipsbladet claims that Eriksen will instead be making the move to the Bundesliga.

Which Bundesliga club is Eriksen joining?

Despite Bayer Leverkusen having been credited as admirers, the playmaker is said to be on the brink of signing for Wolfsburg.

Eriksen is now due to undergo a medical with the German outfit before being confirmed as a new addition, providing that a medical is passed.

Peter Christiansen, Wolfsburg's managing director of sport, is also from Denmark and has seemingly played his part in negotiations.

Wolfsburg have started the new campaign by collecting four points from Bundesliga fixtures versus Heidenheim and Mainz 05.

If a transfer is finalised, Eriksen would be in line to feature in the fourth major division of his career after the Premier League, Serie A and Eredivisie.

He has not played any competitive football since representing Denmark against Lithuania in a friendly back in June.

As such, Eriksen will require time to get up to speed, despite having trained with Swedish club Malmo in recent months.
