Vaclav Kadlec denied Wolfsburg victory with late equaliser

Wolfsburg are denied a victory as Vaclav Kadlec scores a late header to earn Eintracht Frankfurt a 2-2 draw.

Vaclav Kadlec scored an 85th-minute equaliser as Eintracht Frankfurt held Wolfsburg to a 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

A bright start from Wolfsburg was rewarded in the 15th minute as the hosts took the lead in spectacular fashion when Naldo picked out the bottom corner with a free kick from 30 yards out.

However, Frankfurt were level once again midway through the first half when Sebastian Jung, under pressure from a number of players inside the box, could only deliver the ball into his own net.

Wolfsburg looked the more likely to score the third goal of the match before the break, but their limited opportunities were wasted, with Kevin De Bruyne firing straight at Kevin Trapp from the edge of the box.

The home side were left frustrated for long periods of the second half, with Trapp once again making a vital contribution to tip over Maximilian Arnold dipping effort from distance.

It was Wolfsburg who continued to pile on the pressure as Frankfurt desperately looked to remain level with some stubborn defending throughout the match.

The visitors could not hold on for any longer, and it was Arnold who made the breakthrough with an unstoppable effort from the edge of the box after linking with De Bruyne.

However, there was one final twist on a dramatic afternoon as Aleksandar Ignjovski delivered the perfect cross for Kadlec, who headed home emphatically to earn Frankfurt a point.
