Report: West Bromwich Albion on verge of signing Wigan Athletic's James McClean

Wigan Athletic winger James McClean is set to join West Bromwich Albion, according to reports.

The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international was voted Player of the Year by the Latics supporters in April.

Despite his performances, however, he couldn't stop the club from sliding into League One at the end of the season.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the Baggies have agreed a £1.5m deal with the 2013 FA Cup winners for McClean, who has one year remaining on his Wigan contract.

McClean moved to the Latics from Sunderland in 2013.
