Shaun Maloney completes Wigan switch

Shaun Maloney has completed his £1m move from Celtic to Wigan.

The 28-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract at the DW Stadium.

"Roberto Martinez rates Shaun very highly and has every faith that he will do well," said Latics chairman Dave Whelan.

"The player maybe has something to prove after his last spell. We're all excited about seeing him in action."

The switch marks Maloney's second spell in the Premier League after signing for Aston Villa from Celtic in 2007, but the Scotland international spent only a year at Villa Park before returning to the Bhoys.
