Rosler: 'We'll come back stronger'

Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has insisted that his side will return stronger next season following their Championship playoff heartbreak against Queens Park Rangers.

The Latics were defeated 2-1 at Loftus Road in Monday night's second-leg clash to end their hopes of a return to the Premier League.

It has been a gruelling campaign for Wigan, who took part in the early stages of the Europa League as well as reaching the FA Cup semi-final.

"They gave me every little drop," Rosler told Sky Sports News following the game. "I squeezed out everything and they gave everything to me - 99.9 per cent of our squad has been unbelievable.

"It was very close. It was unfortunate, after 62 games we took it right to the wire. The players will come out stronger out of this. I believe that you have to fail first before you become a winner. Next year we will be winners."

QPR will now face Derby County in the final at Wembley for a place in the top flight.
