Uwe Rosler: 'We won't rush to sign Nicky Maynard permanently'

Rosler: 'No rush to sign Maynard'

Uwe Rosler has insisted that Wigan Athletic are in no rush to enter negotiations regarding a possible permanent move for Nicky Maynard.

The forward joined the Latics on loan from Cardiff City in January and, after seeing Maynard score twice in the win over Sheffield Wednesday, Rosler claims that he is only focused on getting the best out of his temporary signing.

"It's far too early to talk about what may or may not happen in the summer," Rosler told the Wigan Evening Post.

"I said from day one that Nicky needs time, and I spoke to both him and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about that. We were all in agreement about what we are trying to achieve with this loan spell.

"I cannot talk about the future, but I can say that I am enjoying working with him."

Maynard has struggled with a number of serious injuries since joining Cardiff in August 2012.
