Half-Time Report: Wigan Athletic lead Nottingham Forest

Wigan Athletic lead Nottingham Forest 2-1 at half time, thanks to goals from Shaun Maloney and Jordi Gomez at the DW Stadium.

Wigan Athletic are leading Nottingham Forest 2-1 in this afternoon's Championship clash at the DW Stadium.

The home side started brightly but Forrest took the lead in the eighth minute thanks to goal from Andy Reid.

After a quick throw-in from Eric Lichaj, Radoslaw Majewski was brought down and Reid curled the resulting free kick in off the post.

Wigan soon equalised with a penalty from Shaun Maloney after Jack Hobbs brought down Marc-Antoine Fortune inside the box.

The home side took the lead 10 minutes before the break after Fortune's shot from long range came back off the bar, and Jordi Gomez was on hand to score from the rebound.
