West Ham United launch bid for Lille's Idrissa Gueye?

Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye is the subject of an offer from West Ham United, according to reports.

The 25-year-old, who is a Senegalese international with 23 caps for his country, had been linked with moves to Southampton and Marseille.

However, the Hammers are ready to beat their rivals to his signature with an offer believed to be somewhere between £5.7m and £7m, according to French media outlet RMC Sport.

Crystal Palace are also considering an approach for Gueye, the report adds.

Gueye, who made his debut for Lille in 2010, scored four goals in 30 appearances for the French side last season.
