West Ham eye Joe Cole move

West Ham United are understood to be lining up a return to Upton Park for Joe Cole.

The midfielder, who came through the club's youth academy before signing for Chelsea in 2003, spent last season on loan at Lille from Liverpool.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is now looking to boost his squad ahead of their return to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.

Nigel Reo-Coker and Kieran Richardson are also thought to be on Allardyce's radar.

West Ham secured their place in the top flight with a 2-1 win over Blackpool in the Championship play-off final on Saturday.
