Report: West Ham preparing Walcott bid

West Ham United will reportedly launch a £26m move for Arsenal striker Theo Walcott at the end of the season.

The England international has been with the Gunners for the past 10 years, but is still battling to establish himself as a first-choice starter for the capital outfit.

Walcott's influence has also been called into question by a number of pundits this season, including former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer.

According to the Brentwood Gazette, West Ham will test Arsenal's resolve with a bid in excess of £25m this summer and are prepared to offer the 26-year-old a regular role at centre-forward.

West Ham's chances of landing Walcott could hinge on their top-four bid this season. As it stands, the Hammers are fifth in the Premier League table, two points ahead of Manchester United.
