Moyes coy over Batshuayi speculation

West Ham United boss David Moyes has insisted that "not a lot" should be made of his appearance at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Moyes was seen in the crowd as Chelsea hosted Norwich City in their FA Cup third-round replay, with alleged Hammers target Michy Batshuayi scoring for the Blues.

However, the Scot has played down the reason why we made the trip across London, suggesting that he was not necessarily there to assess a potential signing.

At a press conference, the 54-year-old said: "I am smiling because I am amazed that folk are surprised that a manager is away watching another football match I think it's part of our job, you do the team but you also do other games, whether it is to watch players, tactics, watch anything about the game at all, even just a fan, I don't think people should make a lot of it.

"I'm a football fan, I go to a lot of games as a supporter as well as a manager. We never said we were interested. I would try not to talk about players from other clubs because, you know, I'm there to watch a game and I wasn't there necessarily to watch any individual."

Each of Andy Carroll, Javier Hernandez and Diafra Sakho have been linked with an exit from the London Stadium before the end of the month.
