Team News: Oleksandr Zinchenko misses out for Arsenal, Kieran Tierney starts

Zinchenko misses out for Arsenal, Tierney starts

Oleksandr Zinchenko is out of Arsenal's Premier League clash with West Ham United through injury, as Kieran Tierney comes into the first XI.

Mikel Arteta did not mention any issue for the Ukrainian in his pre-game press conference, but it is believed that he sustained a groin injury during last weekend's draw with Liverpool and is being rested as a precaution.

With crucial fixtures against Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United to come, Arsenal have taken no risks over Zinchenko's fitness, as Tierney comes in for a rare Premier League start.

Tierney's introduction is the only change that Arteta makes to his Arsenal side, as Rob Holding continues in place of the injured William Saliba in the heart of the backline.

Holding's only Premier League goal to date came away to West Ham last season, and the England international protects Aaron Ramsdale alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in the rearguard.

Eddie Nketiah has recovered from an ankle injury to make the bench alongside Leandro Trossard, as Gabriel Jesus continues in the number nine role.

Meanwhile, West Ham have made eight changes from Thursday's 1-1 draw with Gent in the Europa Conference League, with Jarrod Bowen, Vladimir Coufal and captain Declan Rice the only players to hold their spots.

West Ham United: Fabianski; Coufal, Kehrer, Zouma, Cresswell; Soucek, Rice, Paqueta; Bowen, Antonio, Benrahma Subs: Areola, Johnson, Anang, Emerson, Downes, Cornet, Fornals, Lanzini, Ings

Arsenal: Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli Subs: Turner, Smith Rowe, Kiwior, Trossard, Jorginho, Vieira, Nelson, Walters, Nketiah
