Palace beat West Ham at London Stadium with last-gasp winner

A deflected strike from Michael Olise in the 94th minute saw Crystal Palace record a 2-1 win over West Ham United at London Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The two teams looked to be heading for a spare of the spoils, with Wilfried Zaha cancelling out an opener from Said Benrahma, but Olise's late effort secured all the points for Palace.

The result has moved Patrick Vieira's side into ninth spot in the Premier League table, while West Ham sit 15th, having suffered their eighth league defeat of the campaign.

Palace were bright early on, with the Eagles making most of the early running, and Eberechi Eze dragged one wide of the post in the seventh minute.

West Ham's first half-chance came in the 13th minute when Aaron Cresswell picked out Jarrod Bowen, but the attacker's effort was always moving wide of the post.

Despite a slow start, it was the Hammers that made the breakthrough in the 20th minute, with Benrahma picking out the back of the net with a brilliant strike from outside the box.

Palace were level before the break, though, with Zaha finding the back of the net with a powerful finish after some lacklustre defending from the Hammers.

Eze took the ball away from Thilo Kehrer in a wide area, and the ball found its way to Zaha, who registered his sixth Premier League goal of the campaign.

Palace also had the first serious chance of the second period, with Jeffrey Schlupp working the ball into Eze, but the attacker's effort took a deflection and just dropped wide of the West Ham goal.

Eze had another opportunity in the 71st minute after smart work from Zaha, but the attacker failed to make the most of having possession in a dangerous area.

West Ham were initially awarded a penalty in the 80th minute when Michail Antonio was blocked by Marc Guehi inside the box, but referee Paul Tierney overturned the decision after advice from VAR.

Palace almost snatched all the points late on when Jordan Ayew's low cross was deflected towards his own goal by Craig Dawson, but Lukasz Fabianski was on hand to make a smart save.

There was to be one final piece of drama, though, with Palace winning it in the 94th minute when Olise's strike deflected off Cresswell and dropped into the back of the net.
